Every Student Has the Right to Learn
The fundamental right of any student, in any school, is the right to be taught and assessed completely, appropriately and professionally as an individual and to learn in an atmosphere free from distraction, bullying, harassment or intimidation.
Code of Conduct
Every student is expected to understand and follow the school's standards of behavior and discipline.
Respectful Learning Environment
Classroom and general School rules are clearly explained to all students through this diary. If behavior is inappropriate, disrespectful or disruptive, students may be asked to report to the teacher after School.
A student may be referred to the Vice-Principal or Principal if the situation warrants further attention. Continued inappropriate behavior will result in disciplinary action.
Good Behavior & Discipline
Good behavior and discipline are the key foundations of good education. Without an orderly atmosphere, effective teaching and learning cannot take place.
The School maintains discipline and good conduct to secure a calm, safe and well-ordered learning environment.
Common Sense & Consideration
The following rules are intended to guide students towards conduct brought about by common sense, courtesy and consideration for others.
These standards enable individuals and the School as a whole to function effectively. Some rules are designed in the interest of safety, health and general well-being, while others support academic fulfillment and high standards.
Knowledge of School Rules
All students are expected to know this code of conduct and to abide by it.
The School values the support of parents in upholding its standards and they will be informed if a student's behavior is giving cause for concern.
Serious Offences
Breaches of the rules defined as serious offences are liable to lead to exclusion from the School depending upon the circumstances.
Conduct Outside the School
School rules also apply on occasions when students, though "out of school", are within the jurisdiction of the School.
This includes School trips, Inter-School Competitions and other School-related activities. Every student is expected to maintain the good reputation of the School at all times.
Collaborative Behaviour Support
Most behavioral issues are handled directly and immediately by the classroom teacher or subject teacher in charge at the time.
When necessary, the School works collaboratively with students and parents to support a child's success through an appropriate plan of action by which inappropriate behavior can be corrected.
The School's core values are the standards by which behavioral expectations are established.
Student Responsibilities
Every student is expected to take responsibility for their learning, behavior and contribution to the classroom.
Classroom Discipline
Students will observe and follow the classroom discipline plan established by the School and the teacher.
Correct Equipment
Students will bring the correct equipment and required learning materials to class every day.
Homework Policy
Students will observe the School's homework policy and complete assigned work responsibly and on time.
Make a Reasonable Effort
Students must make a reasonable effort in class and participate positively in their learning activities.
Communication in English
Students must communicate in English while in School and during classroom activities.
Respect & Responsibility
Students should demonstrate respect, courtesy and consideration towards teachers, staff and fellow students.
Learn. Respect. Responsible.
A positive school environment is built when every member of the School community understands their responsibilities and respects the rights of others.
Building Character, Creating a Better Future
Together, we can create a school community where every child feels respected, supported and inspired to achieve their best.
